I need to reopen an old Cubase project where I used a complex metaplugin patch and right now, metaplugin prevents me from loading that patch unless it finds the "missing" 圆4 component file. Weird thing is, the AU loads fine in Live 10. Older Logic 9 sessions will completely load into Logic Pro X, including all presets, parameters and automation.

I was and still am on 10.14.6 all the time. Check if the installation path is actually monitored by your VST host application. A Logic introduced dynamic plug-in loading in Logic Pro X 10.4.5, which disables. My license is still valid, it worked half a year before and I don't know what could have changed the situation because I didn't do any OSX updates.
